We Are Back!

Our Reopening Plan

In the last several weeks, we have monitored guidelines and best practices for gathering in a safe way. After a significant amount of prayer and preparation, we plan to resume services at Bayou Talla on Sunday, May 31. We're committed to creating an environment that meets government recommendations for safety. To make that possible, our Sunday service has been redesigned to create a sanitary, touchless environment that allows for physical distancing. At this time, Bayou Kids will not be meeting. So, your entire family is welcome to attend church in the auditorium!

Let’s Work Together to Stay Healthy

What We’re Doing:
  • We are having only our main worship service at 10 AM. There will be no Sunday School at this time.
  • We will have hand sanitizer available in the lobby.
  • The service will be a touchless experience and all high-volume areas will be thoroughly sanitized between services.
  • Bayou Kids will not be open at this time (see below).
  • No food or beverages will be offered. You are welcome to bring your own from home.
  • No offering buckets will be passed. Instead, there will be an area in the back of the auditorium for guests who want to give.
  • All seatback materials, papers, and pens will be removed.

How You Can Help:

Please remain at home if you or anyone you live with can answer yes to any of the following questions:
  • Have you been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19?
  • Are you experiencing a cough, shortness of breath or sore throat?
  • Have you had a fever in the last 48 hours?
  • Have you experienced new loss of taste or smell?
  • Have you experienced vomiting or diarrhea in the last 24 hours

Here are some precautions that we are asking you to consider when you do step foot on campus:

  • If you don't feel well or have health concerns, please stay home and join us at Bayou Talla Online.
  • We encourage you to wear a mask (not required but encouraged). We will have one available to you if needed.
  • We ask that you be mindful of what you touch.
  • Please wash your hands and use hand sanitizer often.
  • Maintain a distance of 6-feet between you/your family and others attending the worship gathering.
  • Please seat one family per row of chairs. If you have a large family you may use two rows.
  • When the service ends, please exit the facilities completely so you can spend time in open spaces outside to catch up with others.

We understand there are many different viewpoints of how to navigate CoVid-19 but we want to heed to the mentality that Paul advised the church at Corinth when he wrote:

“Be careful, however, that the exercise of your rights does not become a stumbling block to the weak.”
- 1 Corinthians 8:9

We believe the right course of action is to always love your neighbor, and we believe this is the best course of action in loving others in our church and beyond. We are eager to get back to worshiping with many of you this coming Sunday, but let’s do everything we can to get everyone else back too!

Bayou Kids

At this time, Bayou Kids will not be open. We hope to meet again soon, and will let you know when Bayou Kids is open. Your entire family is welcome to attend church in the auditorium and we encourage you to continue teaching your kids about Jesus using Bayou Kids Online!
